Nick Bush President & CEO
With 19 years industry underwriting experience in the construction sector, Nick has developed a broad knowledge and recognition of how every project is different, yet equally important. Through listening to brokers and clients he understood the requirement for a specialised solution to this challenging yet fascinating sector. Nick has held many executive roles in both Canada and the UK. Before founding Merlin, Nick held the position of Head of Construction Canada, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
Daniel Moses EVP & Chief Underwriting Officer
Daniel has over 15 years of industry underwriting experience in a variety of executive roles. He brings a unique perspective having spent his career on both the MGA side at Totten Insurance Group as well as the Insurer side at Everest Canada. Daniel’s prior experience and direct responsibility for implementing national underwriting strategies including the building of books of businesses, particularly with a focus on construction exposures will complement Merlin’s specialized approach in this sector.
Sheila Campbell Head of Liability
Sheila brings over 40 years of industry experience to Merlin, 30 years of which were dedicated to Allianz. As one of Canada’s most respected Casualty experts, her extraordinary knowledge of the Liability field, extensive management experience and broker and client connections make her an invaluable member of Merlin’s leadership team. Her dedication and loyalty are only matched by her humor and integrity.
Carol Gawrylash Head of Financial Lines
Carol has over 30 years experience as a Financial Lines underwriter. As a founding member of the Totten Insurance Group, Carol has an extensive knowledge and inners workings of the Managing General Agent structure. Her most recent role was as Senior Vice President – Operations and Professional Liability at Totten Insurance Group. She spent 15 years as an active member of PLUS (Professional Liability Underwriting Society) and sat on the Steering Committee for the Canadian Chapter.
