Daniel has over 15 years of industry underwriting experience in a variety of executive roles. He brings a unique perspective to the team having spent his career at a national MGA as well as a large global insurer. Daniel’s prior experience and direct responsibility for implementing national underwriting strategies including the building of books of businesses, particularly with a focus on construction exposures will complement Merlin’s specialized approach in this market.

Sarah has over 13 years’ experience in the financial and professional lines sector. She has held numerous senior management positions on both the insurer and broker side, most recently as Head of Professional and Financial Lines at a large global insurer. Sarah has spent 9 years as an active member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and sat on the Steering Committee for the Canadian Chapter. Sarah holds an Honours Degree in Political Science from York University, and has also completed her CIP, CAIB and Risk Management Designations.

Ryan held various roles in financial lines underwriting at a large global insurer and was instrumental in the growth and reputation of its practice. He brings with him a shrewd business sense and experience managing a variety of strategic projects. Ryan is Committee Member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and sits on the board of several non-profit organizations. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and has earned multiple certifications in risk management.
